Peter van Wyck is an associate professor and Graduate Program Director of the Media Studies program at Concordia University. His background is broadly interdisciplinary: forestry, ecological science, environmental philosophy, cultural studies and semiotics, and communication theory. He has published widely in the area of environmental cultural studies. His abiding research interests are in the theoretical and practical relations between culture, environment, landscape and memory.

van Wyck emploie une approche rigoureuse et unique afin de penser et de décrire les paysages construis par les cultures et les pratiques contemporaines. Il tient aussi à partager ses grandes capacités d’écriture et ses articulations réfléchies des études critiques de paysages à cet atelier universitaire. De surcroît, étant à la fois candidat et conseiller du projet Penser avec l’eau, il a administré un soutien logistique indispensable et prodigué de précieux conseils intellectuels. Étant un universitaire établi et reconnu pour son écriture sur les déchets nucléaires et leur menace, van Wyck approfondira peut-être davantage sa pensée critique sur les paysages et l’eau. Chose certaine : il pourra incontestablement enrichir la conversation en mettant au point l’érudition critique sur l’eau et, surtout, l’éthique de comment aborder le sujet de « penser avec l’eau. »
