Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Communication Studies, Concordia University / Directrice et Professeure adjointe, département des études en communications, Université Concordia

As well as being the catalyst for this workshop's Artists' Panel, Staseson has greatly facilitated the Thinking with Water workshop through her encouragement and support as the Chair of Communication Studies at Concordia University. As an intermedia artist and filmmaker, Staseson will present a new work during this workshop. Turning to her existing but un-activated footage, Staseson will recombine segments into a new production of sound and image that provokes a "thinking with water" through an aural and visual drawing of the alterity of water's surface. Her perspectives on process, research-creation practices and place will be of great value to this workshop and, moreover, promise to move the conversation beyond text.
