Spiegel's dedication to raising awareness of groundwater contamination in Bhopal, India, stretches back to her work in Communications and Outreach from 2006 to 2007 with the International Campaign for Justice for Bhopal & Sambhavana Clinic and Documentation Unit with the Centre for Teaching and Research of Women at McGill University. With an impressively multi-disciplinary range of expertise, from an innovative philosophy of theatre in terms of the "eco-theatrical," through media theory, to biopolitics and subjectivity, her contribution to this workshop will be unique. As a junior scholar she will greatly benefit from this workshop, and as a dramaturge, philosopher, artist and activist, she will bring her own well-developed ethical and creative sensibility to this academic event.
