Background

Biography

Irene Klaver has deep experience and expertise in thinking water philosophically. In addition to her numerous academic publications in this field, Klaver is director of the Philosophy of Water project, and co-editor of Water, Cultural Diversity & Global Environmental Change: Emerging Trends, Sustainable Futures?, a product of the UNESCO-International Hydrological Program Water and Cultural Diversity initiative. She is also a member of the UNESCO expert advisory group of the project on Water and Cultural Diversity (WCD). Klaver is also the Executive Director of WaterWays-Confluence of Art, Science, Policy and Philosophy, an interdisciplinary and international water conference at the University of North Texas. She is also co-director of the film "Grazed: Ranching, Water and Open Space in the Era of Sub-Division" (2009). In short, Klaver's academic expertise is deeply enriched by her political and artistic involvement in issues of water and culture.

Irene Klaver possède une expérience et une expertise éprouvées sur le sujet de penser l’eau philosophiquement. En plus de ses nombreuses publications dans ce domaine, Klaver est directrice du projet Philosophy of Water, et coéditrice de Water, Cultural Diversity & Global Environmental Change: Emerging Trends, Sustainable Futures?, organisé par l’initiative Water and Cultural Diversity du Programme hydrologique international de l’UNESCO.
